Workshops
General Information Session
Community members and interested professionals such as parents, employers, optometrists, educators, Behavioural Consultants, School Psychologists – these workshops are approximately one hour in length depending upon the format of the workshop and the time allotted by the interest group. The participant will come away with an understanding of who might benefit from Vantage Vision & Reading and the procedure by which Vantage Vision & Reading addresses reading challenges.

Specific Instruction Session
For teachers and therapists to equip them with the same information as a general info workshop as well as to enable them to identify and screen students who require the assessment – these workshops can be from 1 hour to 3 hours in length and include specific information around symptoms, behaviours, questions to ask the student as well as description and practice of the methods for a screening.
Cost - $150/hour

These workshops are done over 5 days, in person.

The first 3 days include 6 hours of lecture around underlying theory and the assessment and remediation methods. The 4th day is spent on an examination/review time with the afternoon and day 5 consisting of application of assessment methods, program planning and training of a tutor by each participant.

Due to the intensity of the workshop, and to provide the necessary one-on-one training, the seats are limited to 3 or 4 persons per workshop.

Yes, follow-up supervision is provided in person.

It costs $1200 CAD to become a certified Vantage Reading Instructor.
This includes the course, course materials, training kit and shadowing two students.
Assessment Training Workshop
Train the Trainer Workshops: for teachers, tutors, or parents with tutor experience who are interested in becoming equipped to do assessments and programming.
